When Bloggers Go AWOL… (Weekly Winners)

Things that I’ve been up to this past week…

Since, you know, I forgot to blog and all.

I Heart Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster is AWESOME.

A good book has no ending.

So Many Books... So Little Time.

Necessities

One should always stock up on the necessities...

The Happy Maker

Gossip Girl + iPod means never having to pay attention to ANYONE, ANYWHERE

But he that dares not grasp the thorn

How long does it take Valentine roses to die anyhow?

Red Dye No. 6

Little Man turned TEN on the 22nd... I am officially OLD.

For pics that are undoubtedly more awesome and interesting than these, be sure to check out the other Weekly Winner-ers (totally a word) hanging out at chez Lotus.

Love the last picture of how bright the cupcakes look!!! Great pictures.

    • Judith Shakespeare

Weren’t they bright? Of course, the stupid icing stained EVERYTHING. :) Thanks for stopping by!

  • http://www.amiexpat.com/ Christina | AmiExpat

Those cupcakes look scrumptious. Love the books and the iPod too. Really nice blog design as well :)

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Thanks, hon!

  • http://hipchickshome.blogspot.com/2009/03/weekly-winners-01-march.html hip chick

Little man hit double digits!? That awesome…happy belated birthday. Have fun at the concert.

    • Judith Shakespeare

Yeah… DOUBLE digits. I’m still in like shock or something… :)

  • http://secretagentmama.com SECRET AGENT MAMA

You are brilliant (even if you can’t blog for shit, yo) and I love, love, love me some JS! ;)

    • Judith Shakespeare

Sigh. I’m a terrible blogger, I know…. But as long as I have your love, the world is a beautiful place.

  • http://secretmomthoughts.blogspot.com Secret Mom Thoughts

Great set. The cupcakes were my favorite.

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Thank you!

  • http://www.spoiledmommy.com/ SPOILED MOMMY

Those cupcakes looks delicious! Happy birthday to the lil man!
So THATS your beauty secret, I was trying to read them all so I could steal it!!

    • Judith Shakespeare

The whole Wexler line is AWESOME, honey! Although a little expensive. My favorite is her acne serum ($20- 30), though, and I slap it on after scrubbing my face with the Aveeno pads (BEST $7 ever spent). I follow-up with a Clinique moisturizer. Three steps morning and night, and I’m good to go.

(Oh! And the MAC foundation doesn’t hurt either. LOL)

    • Judith Shakespeare

Oops! P just informed me that I spend like $45 on the Wexler serum not $20. I obviously make him go shopping for me A LOT, huh?

  • http://www.havocandmayhem.com Stacey~ComfyMom

The cupcakes are beautiful and I love the first shot too

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Thanks so much!

  • http://www.tiarastantrums.com/2009/03/weekly-winners.html Tiaras

LOVE these this week – btw – what is the antiance creme – I’m ALWAYS looking for something!

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Patricia Wexler’s Acnescription™ MMPi.20™ Anti-Aging Acne Serum. AWESOME. :)

  • http://www.doobleh-vay.blogspot.com amy

love the pics. Um- talk to me about wexler stuff? I was thinking of buying some. Love it?

    • Judith Shakespeare

Adore it. The first couple of weeks that I used it, my face went way wacky… But once it all settled down, I fell in love. Like more than chocolate and coffee love.

  • http://awholelotofnothing.net Angie [A Whole Lot of Nothing]

Ray is coming here, too. Mr Sir is going, but the damn kids are keeping me home.

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Ray. Sigh.

(Get thee a babysitter, love. Get thee a babysitter.)

  • http://www.themomjen.com The Mom Jen

Fabulous, I love the rose and the cupcake, yummmm! They’re all good!

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Thanks, honey!!!

  • http://www.mommymelee.com Maria

These are GORGEOUS. Do you use actions on your photos when you retouch them? The colors are so lovely.

    • Judith Shakespeare

Thanks, honey! I used the “All in the Details” set from MCP actions in some of these (the rose and the products, for sure). Plus, I shoot in RAW, so that helps a lot in the processing.

  • http://www.jeanetteverster.com Jeanette

LOVE the bright cupcakes! Happy birthday to the little man!

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Thank you, honey!

  • http://www.mommyalwayswins.com Colleen – Mommy Always Wins

LOVE the iPod shot and the pic of the cupcakes. NOM!

    • Judith Shakespeare

They weren’t as appetizing as they looked, unfortunately. But, oh well, at least they looked pretty! Thanks!

  • http://journey1000words.com cady

i love the shots of the books and the cupcakes!

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Thanks, cady!

  • http://blog.merrymishaps.com merrymishaps

Great shots. Those cupcakes look amazing! Yum!
I also love the iPod photo. After all these years using Creative mp3 players, I finally broke down and got a 3rd gen nano … about two months before the 4th gen came out. D’oh! (mine is aqua)

    • Judith Shakespeare

LOL. Your buying luck sounds like mine… Thankfully, I won this one on a blog contest last year. :) Had I not won it, I’d still be using a REALLY REALLY old one, I promise.

  • http://www.smoochiefrog.com Smoochiefrog

Double digits eh? Well I hope he had a very happy day!

But you can talk to me about feeling old when your oldest hits 17 like mine will in May. ACK!

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Oh my… I can’t even imagine 17! :)

  • http://www.asouthernfairytale.com rachel-asouthernfairytale

AWWW Happy Birthday to HIM and Happy Birth Day to you momma.
You do suck as a blogger (heh) But I love ya and I’ll take what I can get ;-)

Awesome shots, I love the rose and the cupcakes look like a card or an advertisement. I bet they were a PITA to clean up after, but totally worth it.

    MWAH

    • Judith Shakespeare

Ugh. I can’t decide which was worse… the blue or the green icing. Both were a major pain in the butt to scrub off of the countertops. :)

  • http://suchlovelfreckles.blogspot.com suchlovelyfreckles

Ugh, the rose! Love the rose. Very nice pictures. All of them… but the rose, totally gorgeous.

    • Judith Shakespeare

Thanks, honey! I loved how it reflected off of my table.

  • http://tgaw.wordpress.com Vicky

You may be an AWOL blogger, but you are totally there with the framing of these shots. They are wonderful. My favorites are the first one (It’s the Starbucks cup that really sells it for me) and the iPod (it’s the color contrast I love).

    • Judith Shakespeare

      Thanks, Vicky!

  • http://www.qweeniescourt.blogspot.com Qweenie

    WOW! Great photos…

    Happy Belated Birthday B!!

As far as you being ‘old’ because your eldest turned 10, um no…..talk to me when all 3 are double digits! LOL

    • Judith Shakespeare

Well, dude, we already KNEW you were old. LOL.

And longtime no talk… why does it seem like forever since we’ve chatted. Calling you tonight (which you totally know means, “Please call me, K, because I’m a flighty ditz.” right?).
